Butterbeer

Butterbeer is the most-mentioned drink in the series. If you’d like to try your hand at making it, there’s a recipe below for you.

I got this butterbeer ornament from FandomNerd30Emporium on Etsy. It looks good enough to drink!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • ½ cup butterscotch topping (for ice cream)
  • ½ cup powdered sugar
  • 2 liters A&W Cream Soda, chilled
  • ¼ tsp caramel extract
  • ¼ tsp butter extract
  • ¼ cup butterscotch topping (for ice cream)
  • Optional: rum

Directions

  1. In a large bowl, whip heavy whipping cream until stiff peaks form.  Stir in butterscotch topping and powdered sugar.  Set aside.
  2. Mix the caramel and butter extracts with the cream soda, and then pour into mugs.
  3. Top with generous dollop of the butterscotch cream topping, and drizzle with leftover butterscotch topping.
  4. Optional:  For adults, add up to 1 oz. rum to mug before adding cream soda mixture.
